Company Information
The Company
The Hahvahd Tour, as the tour was originally named, is a completely student-run and student-owned organization, operated under the control of Unofficial Tours, LLC.. The tour serves as a one of the premier tourist attractions in the greater Boston area. We are dedicated to providing an interesting, educational, and entertaining experience at Harvard University, the premier school in the world.
The Founding
Unofficial Tours came from humble beginnings in June 2006 under the development of Daniel Schofield-Bodt '07 and Jordan Jones '07. The tour began as a small tour-giving operation serving tourists and the Harvard Square community members alike and has grown into one of the most popular tourist attractions in the greater Boston area.
Accomplishments
The tour reached critical mass early in July 2006 with feature articles in the Harvard Crimson, the Boston Globe, and soon after, the Boston Herald. With the start of the fall semester, the tour has received official approval from the Office of the Dean of Harvard College, which ensured the stability and future of the tour. Since then, Unofficial Tours has held several rounds of recruiting for tour guides and members of the business board, and has increased operation to five tours a day, seven days a week for the summer of 2007.
Entrepeneurs
The tour held its first comp in late September 2006, actively recruiting exceptional Harvard students for our tour, business, and art boards. We are always looking for motivated entrepeneurs to help expand the scope of our business and to approach us with new cooperative endeavors.
